Owner Trimming Clinic - Jindabyne

Learn maintenance hoof trimming skills to keep your horse happily & successfully barefoot. Full beginners welcome or brush up on what you already know. If you can pick out a hoof, you can trim!

This clinic covers:

• growing healthy feet
• common environmental problems & tips
• identifying & correcting imbalances
• identifying & addressing hoof pathologies (eg. seedy toe, thrush etc)
• how to rasp, trim and do basic knife work
• tips on how to have a calm horse for hoofcare

People can bring their own tools (if preferred) however we do provide all gear required for each full participant.  We also have gear for sale on the day.

Attendance gives each participant access to our private fb support group, where you can ask questions, put up pics and videos as well as watch instructional videos we have already uploaded. We’re happy to cover any aspect. This is a supportive space where we welcome the breakdown of even the tiniest parts to owner trimming. Build on your skills & understanding with expert advice. The help doesn’t stop once the clinic finishes!

Cost:

$280 full participant (with horse)

$75 fence sitters

MAX 8 full participants (with horse)

Max 10 fence sitters

Min 4 full participants for the clinic to run

*If the clinic does not reach minimum numbers (4 FULL participants) it will not go ahead. This is decided 1 week prior to the date and an email will be sent to notify.  A refund will apply in this situation

No Stallions, dangerous or sick horses.  Horses should be well handled and be experienced having their feet done. This is not the place for teaching basic hoof handling to a horse
