Annual / Perennial plant (depending on location and conditions) up to 15-20cm tall. Heartsease can’t help but make you smile, with its vibrancy and willingness to exist. Self sows very easily, this gorgeous little plant is great for borders or where horses can snatch a bite. Protect from over indulgence though to avoid laxative effects in high doses. Alternatively, grow in a medicinal garden and throw small handfuls of flowers (or aerial parts) in the bucket as needed. Flowers are commonly found in salads, so toss some in feed buckets for a daily antioxidant kick.
Likes well-drained soil in full - partial sun. Frost resistant, but drought sensitive.
